The SRB celebrated National LEGO Day by designing their own LEGO mini-figures.

Nursery Dressing Up

Children in Nursery have had fun dressing up. They have been reading 'The Tiger Who Came To Tea' and so they made masks to dress up in and also practised buttering bread for their tigers tea.

They had a superhero theme as well, with a Supertato-themed tray. The children enjoyed using puppets to create stories and have been dressing up as superheroes.

Our New Eco Outdoor Classroom

Our new Eco outdoor classroom is complete!

This project has been possible due to the hard work of Mrs Boyes, who submitted a bid for a Borough Council of Kings Lynn and West Norfolk 'Community Infrastructure Levy' grant last year, which was successful.

Thank you so much Mrs Boyes. This outdoor classroom, which can be used by the whole school for a variety of purposes, is an incredibly welcome addition to our school environment.

Norfolk Open Studios 2022

The theme for this years Norfolk Open Studios was Escape. See how the children at Nelson Academy have used art to escape their normal day. Work by artists from throughout the school exploring colour, space, place and emotions. We also had the return of the - now annual – family activity day! Year Five celebrated Burns Night with a day of Scottish fun! In honour of the Scottish Poet Robert Burns, we dedicated a day to all things Scottish - Burns' poems, Scottish Dancing, Charles Rennie Macintosh art and some Computer programming with a special Scottish Challenge. As a treat, after working hard peeling tatties, we enjoyed our Burns' Supper together (haggis, neeps, tatties, scotch pancakes, shortbread and a 'wee dram' - Irn Bru). I was very happy to have seen such enthusiasm for Scottish Culture and some converts to the delights of the haggis!

Ukulele Lessons 2021-22

Year 4 classes started weekly 30-minute ukulele lessons last week.  The children will be learning about the different parts of the instrument and will be learning chords over the 10-week course. Our budding ukulele players are very enthusiastic about their lessons and we are looking forward to hearing some beautiful music as they learn and improve. The school is delighted that the children have been given this opportunity and we are very grateful for the funding provided by the Norfolk Music Hub.
